Do I need to know which university I want to apply to?
No. Many applicants come to the bootcamp without a finished list. We work together on course choice and university selection, look at programmes in the UK, the US and Europe, and build a realistic application strategy for your background.
How much does the PA Austria bootcamp cost?
Participation is completely free of charge. Accommodation and meals in Horn are included. If travelling from Austria or South Tyrol is a financial barrier, we can cover travel costs on request so that money doesn't get in the way.
Is the bootcamp also suitable for master's or PhD applications?
Yes. Bachelor, master and PhD applicants are all welcome at the PA Austria bootcamp. We split participants into appropriate small groups so that topics like research proposals, statement of purpose and postgraduate funding can be addressed in depth.
Do I get a mentor assigned after the bootcamp?
Yes. By taking part in the bootcamp you are guaranteed an international mentor from the global Project Access network of over 5,000 mentors. Where possible, we match you with someone at your target university or in your field of study, so that feedback on essays, selection processes and interviews comes from someone who has been through it.
Does Project Access Austria help with exchange semesters or Erasmus?
No. We focus on full bachelor's, master's and PhD degree programmes at international universities. For exchange semesters and Erasmus stays, the international office of your home university or OeAD are the right contact points.
When should I apply for the bootcamp?
As early as possible. Places are limited and selected on a rolling basis. We give priority to applicants from Austria and South Tyrol with less access to private guidance, international school networks or family experience with studying abroad.
Does Project Access Austria help with applications in the US, UK and Europe?
Yes. Our mentoring and bootcamp cover applications to UK universities (Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL and others), US universities (Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Yale, Columbia and others) and continental European programmes (ETH Zurich, Sciences Po, Bocconi, Trinity Dublin and others). Mentors come directly from those universities.
How can I prepare for an application to Harvard, Oxford or Cambridge from Austria?
Plan at least 12–18 months ahead of your intended start. Concretely: research universities and courses, take any required standardised tests (SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, BMAT, LNAT depending on your target), write multiple drafts of your personal statement or Common App essays, request recommendation letters in good time, and practise mock interviews. The Project Access Austria bootcamp and one-to-one mentoring guide you through exactly these steps – free of charge.
